The 2014 Bodegas José Pariente Cuvee Especial Verdejo is one of the most representative gems from Rueda, a Spanish region renown for high quality white wines. Verdejo is the dominant grape variety, planted across over 80% of the region’s vineyards. Bodegas José Pariente are a modern example of winemakers incorporating the latest technologies into the production process, while still keeping in touch with tradition: this particular approach gives the wines more consistency and, at the same time, a defined sense of place that the drinkers can enjoy.
The wine we selected for you has been fermented in cement eggs of two different sizes of 6 and 16 hectolitres: their new-found prevalence among winemakers is due to their oval shape, allowing for a continuous flow around the fermenting liquid and resulting in a more consistent, homogenous wine.
