The 2015 David & Nadia Pinotage is a red wine from the Paardebosch farm in South Africa. The owners of the estate are David and Nadia Sadie, husband and wife, who celebrated their first vintage in 2010. They are considered some of the most exciting winemakers in the South African scene.
The wine is part of their Topography range, one of the three currently produced at the estate. This Pinotage displays savoury spice, plum and cherry notes, alongside very peculiar hints of cured meat and asphalt. Excellent if paired with game or lamb, we believe it’s also a good bottle for a relaxed dinner party, or for an ideal gift.
The label of the bottle was designed according to the name of the wines range, “Topography”, and it actually depicts the topographic map of the mountain David and Nadia are based in, the Paardeberg. The black paint represents the Swartland, literally the “the black land” in Afrikaans, while the red paint is a reference to Pinotage, the grape variety the wine is made from.
