The 2010 Tardieu-Laurent Saint-Joseph Les Roches Vieilles Vignes is a red wine made entirely from Syrah, the main red grape variety in the Rhone appellation of Saint-Joseph. Maison Tardieu-Laurent are the négociant winemakers behind this specific wine: this means they don’t cultivate, but only purchase the grapes to then vinify them.
Despite not owning any vineyards, Michel Tardieu – who now runs the estate along with his family – makes sure to have a hand in the whole production process, from start to finish. He makes sure to only pick the best grapes and oversees every aspect so that they meet his standards.
The 2010 Tardieu-Laurent Saint-Joseph Les Roches Vieilles Vignes displays notes of dark fruit and plum, with some peculiar hints of black pepper and chocolate. We see this Syrah to be paired with stew or lamb, the latter preferably as a Sunday roast. Alternatively, it can be a good companion in a cold winter’s night in.
