The 2005 Michel & Stephane Ogier Cote Rotie is a red wine made from Syrah in Rhone, by the Domaine Stephane Ogier. It is widely recognised to be the signature wine of the estate, produced in about 1,600 cases each vintage.
Joining in the late 1990s, Stephane has made it his mission to bring the estate into the modern era, while maintaining some of the traditions that have brought the world of wine production to this point. The Cote Rotie wines are aged in new oak barrels for about 18 months.
Aromas and flavours such as blueberry and blackcurrant feature in the 2005 Michel & Stephane Ogier Cote Rotie, alongside violet, black pepper and a peculiar hint of meat. And food pairing is quite meaty too, as we would recommend this Syrah with stew, lamb or beef, either a steak or a juicy burger. We believe it’s ideal in a cold winter’s night in, a smart dinner party or a Sunday roast.
