The 2016 Bruno Rocca Rabajà is a single vineyard Barbaresco wine made from Nebbiolo grapes. Rabajà is a 3.5 hectares’ plot renowned to deliver aromatic wines with firm structure and balanced tannins. The vines are southwest-facing, planted at an altitude of about 300 metres above sea level and between 50 and 60 years old.
Bruno Rocca has a wide range of Barbarescos from different vineyards in its portfolio, however this 2016 Rabajà is one of the more masculine wines produced by the estate. It goes through a process of ageing of two years: the first in French oak barriques, the second in French oak barrels. Barbaresco Rabajà displays aromas of berry fruit and green herbs, with some hints of violet and rose.
We see this wine very much suitable to accompany a meal with lamb, Bolognese or a juicy beef burger.
