The 2014 Au Bon Climat Wild Boy Chardonnay is a white wine from the Californian region of Santa Barbara. The winemaker is Jim Clendenen, the “Wild Boy” that founded Au Bon Climat winery in 1982 at the age of 29.
The wine is made entirely from Chardonnay and features notes of tropical fruit, nuts, butter and toast. It’s a wine we would suggest to pair not only with seafood, fish or sushi, but we also see chicken to be a good fit too. It can be enjoyed on a casual weekday, but its very peculiar label makes the bottle a well thought, impressive gift.
The connection of ABC Wild Boy Chardonnay with Jim Clendenen couldn’t be more evident. Not only the wine is named after his nickname, but his face is depicted on the label, a very colourful, triangular shaped little piece art able to convey a sense of modern in a psychedelic taste.
