2004 William Fèvre Les Clos, Chablis Grand Cru
- Critic Rating
The 2004 William Fèvre Les Clos, Chablis Grand Cru is perhaps one of the finest examples of Chardonnay in the world. Not only it brings along the heritage and tradition of Chablis, but also the expertise of the glorious producer William Fèvre.
Typically speaking, the wines of Les Clos are generally more powerful and intense than the other Grand Cru vineyards, often associated with ripe stone fruit, orange peel and honey.
This 2004 vintage makes no exception, with notes of apricot, nuts and citrus, with a finish of vanilla. It’s a perfect wine to accompany seafood and fish, but also soft cheese: we also see it matching quite well with pork or chicken. If you really are in need for an excuse to justify few sips of this William Fèvre jewel, an aperitif or some relief in a hot summer’s day might come handy. Or just a treat in a casual weekday after a challenging shift at work.
