2010 Domaine Chantal Remy Clos des Rosiers Monopole, Morey-Saint-Denis
- Pinot Noir
- Critic Rating
The 2010 Domaine Chantal Remy Clos des Rosiers Monopole, Morey-Saint-Denis is a Pinot Noir wine made in Côte de Nuit by the domaine now owned by Chantal Remy. The winemaker is Chantal’s son Florian, carrying on a winemaking family tradition deeply rooted to Burgundy. The estate grows exclusively Pinot Noir and the wines have a classic, delicate and fine-tuned touch across the entire portfolio.
Clos des Rosiers is a monopole of Chantal Remy and has been replanted with vines only in the year 2000. Before that, the plot has been used as a rose garden – hence the name – and more recently as a tennis court. After replantation and several vintages of significant quality, Chantal Remy has applied to AOC in order to regain the Premier Cru class. However, due to the young age of the vineyard, there is a little longer to wait.
It should be just a matter of time though, as the quality of the wines from Clos des Rosiers has been widely recognised as nothing less than outstanding. This delicate Pinot Noir has tones of red fruit and sweet spice, ideal to be paired with soft cheese or pork and perfect for a relaxed Friday night, for an aperitif or just to be brought among friends if the aim is to impress them.
