2015 Moss Wood Sémillon

The 2015 Moss Wood Semillon has been defined as “one of contrast”. The vintage itself was characterised by spring rains, negatively impacting the flowering and the yields of Sémillon at Moss Wood. The summer provided consistent warmth, although temperatures were lower than average and provide a slow but steady ripening: nearly the perfect conditions, as excellent were the grapes at harvest.

Keith Mugford has been looking after viticulture and winemaking at Moss Wood since the late 1970s, when he joined the company as winemaker, moved by the desire of making wine in Margaret River and enjoy the waves of the regions for surfing at the same time. Despite the region being very popular for reds, we decided to select something a little different for you. And a little different is the story of Keith and his wife Claire, as they finally purchased together the estate in 1985 from the previous owners.

The 2015 Moss Wood Semillon brings flavours such as lime, honey and lanolin: a balanced wine ideal to pair with vegetables and soft cheese, but also with sushi or, generally, with seafood and fish.
